It is now a commonplace that the persistence of the substituted phenoxyacetic acids in soils for considerable periods of time is vital importance for their practical applications as herbicides. It is equally important however that this toxicity shoud not last indefinitely, especially if crops susceptible to the herbicide are subsequently to be grown and it is fortunate that certain natural agents combine to remove such toxicity over periods of time which vary with conditions. |
